BSU professor addresses controversy; university tweets message of support for women

A Boise State Professor who's made national headlines for his controversial statements on women talked about the controversy further on 670 KBOI with Nate Shelman.

If you need a refresher, Scott Yenor is a professor of political science at Boise State University, where he teaches political philosophy. On Nov. 1, he attended the second National Conservatism Conference where he spoke at the conference.

"Every effort must be made not to recruit women into engineering, but rather to recruit and demand more of men who become engineers. Ditto for med school and the law, and every trade," he said at the conference.

The video, posted by TikTok user @sociallstlyawkward has been viewed more than 308,000 times.

Shelman asked Yenor about his message to the single mother.

"We don't live in the 1880s, we don't live in the 1940s, where we had different kinds of approaches for single moms then as there are now," Yenor said. "So obviously society has to change and support such women in order to help raise them raise their kids."
