One of the most highly used runes Conqueror is finally getting nerfs in patch 10.13.
League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter tweeted today previewing that they are testing some Conqueror nerfs. The changes are scheduled to hit the live servers on patch 10.13 but before that, it will go through some testing in the PBE.
Ever since Riot Games introduced Conqueror, it became a must pick rune for the bruisers. Due to its massive popularity, it received a bunch of nerfs in season 9. With Conqueror’s recent changes in patch 9.23-9.24, Riot also made it easier for some mages like Diana, Cassiopeia, and Ekko to use it properly.
Based on popularity, Conqueror is also beating other runes by miles. Thus, Riot Games is planning to take away some of its strength.
In patch 9.23, Riot increased the Conqueror’s max stack from 5 to 10. And now in the upcoming patch 10.13, they are again increasing the max stack to 12. In order to balance things up, Riot will reduce its Adaptive per stack. From patch 10.13, the Adaptive per stack will be reduced by 0.8 at the max level, and it is also going to lose 0.3 Adaptive early on.
“Basically the same value at full stacks but a slightly longer ramp up,” Riot Scruffy said. “Emphasizes the longer fight patterns and less useful on bursty champs.”
Although the patch 10.13 Conqueror nerf is not that big, there is a slight chance that its popularity will decrease a bit on some specific champions.
