Eric Staals Wife Tanya Staal

Eric Staal’s wife Tanya Staal is the mother of their three sons, Parker, Levi, and Finley. I noticed Levi is a popular name among baseball and hockey players. Take note, trendy baby namers! Before Eric even inked the deal with the Minnesota Wild, they listed their mansion for sale. I looked at photos of the 7700 square foot property, and it’s quite impressive. When a couple takes care of three kids, a large house becomes more viable as a living space. Obviously it’d seem a little ridiculous for two people to live in a mansion that big, but it’s nice to have space for kids to roam around like wildebeests.

The Staals listed the house for less than what they spent on it. They commissioned the construction in 2008 for $1.85 million and listed it for $1,799,000. I live in New York, and if I sat on a property for eight years only to list it for less than I bought it, I’d consider that an investment disaster. However, the rules are clearly different in Chatsmith, North Carolina! The good news is that the couple’s kids love Minnesota, according to The Star Tribune. The local Minnesota newspaper wrote a story in January 2017 about the transition to the northern state. Of all the Staals, Eric Staal’s wife likes Minnesota the least. Why would she like it more than Eric and the kids? She doesn’t play hockey, and they do!

Of course, any time you ask a newly transplanted sports family if they enjoy the new surroundings, they will say they like them. I mean, what do you expect them to say- they hate the city, its’ people and everything in the previous city was better? That’s not a good way to start off with a new team! Both Eric Staal’s wife Tanya and Eric himself said they witnessed their children show genuine enthusiasm for Minnesota hockey and the sport in general for the first time. They attribute the move to Minnesota to that incline in enthusiasm. It’s great for the whole family to be on the same page!
