IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (CBS2) — An Idaho Falls man was arrested for trafficking meth with the intent to deliver fentanyl Thursday.
Idaho State Police say at around 3:30 p.m. a trooper on patrol saw a motorcycle driver traveling in excess of 60 mph in a 40 mph speed on Lincoln Road east of North Hitt Road in Bonneville County.
The motorcyclist turned north onto 31st E. and the trooper attempted a traffic stop.
Police say the motorcyclist failed to stop and accelerated north onto N. Deborah Drive. Police say the driver appeared to lose control several times until the motorcycle tipped over and threw the driver.
After calling for emergency medical assistance, the driver was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.
During the investigation, the trooper received consent to search the driver's backpack. Inside the pack, police found a plastic bag full of methamphetamine that weighed around 6.4 ounces. Police also found a variety of marijuana products including items packaged for delivery, a scale, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash. The driver also had more than 370 fentanyl pills.
Police also discovered the motorcyclist was driving without privileges, his eyes were bloodshot and watery and police believe he was under the influence of marijuana.
Police arrested Aaron L. Wadsworth, 33, of Idaho Falls. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on the following charges:
