MIDDLETON, Idaho (CBS2) — The Middleton School District received more than 30 Viking Mascot prototypes from Middleton High School students, local artists and grade level students, according to a Facebook post.
"The entries ranged from fantasy drawings to professionally designed mascot logos and were quite good," Middleton High School Assistant Principal Nichole Williamson said.
The selection committee recently met and chose several drawings, and the artists have been asked to make some suggested revisions. Once that step is completed, the committee will review the revised submissions and narrow down the list to five for the public to vote on.
"We appreciate everyone's interest in this effort to develop a Viking Mascot that will truly represent what our community stands for and unite us. We feel the submissions we are moving forward with are close, and with a few edits, will really capture what it means to be a Viking.” Williamson said.
