WATCH: White man can shoot Austin Reaves insane half-court buzzer beater in the playoff

The Los Angeles Lakers are on the verge of eliminating the Golden State Warriors from the playoffs after a dominant first-half performance in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Lakers lead 56-46 at halftime, thanks to a stunning half-court buzzer-beater by Austin Reaves.

Reaves, who has been a surprise contributor for the Lakers in this series, scored 13 points in the first half on 4-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-2 from the three-point range. He was second only to LeBron James, who had 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 2-of-3 from deep.

Reaves’ shot came after a huge defensive play by Anthony Davis, who blocked a layup attempt by Donte DiVincenzo with just over two seconds left in the second quarter. Reaves grabbed the loose ball, raced to the half-court line, and let it fly. The ball sailed through the air and dropped through the net as time expired. The Lakers’ bench erupted in joy as Reaves was swarmed by his teammates.

The Warriors, meanwhile, have been struggling to keep up with the Lakers’ intensity and efficiency. They are shooting just 35.5% from the field and 22.2% from beyond the arc. The Warriors fell behind by as many as 17 points in the first quarter but managed to make a run in the second quarter behind Stephen Curry’s scoring. They cut the deficit to five points with a 12-0 spurt, but could not sustain their momentum and allowed the Lakers to pull away again.

The Lakers have been controlling the game on both ends of the floor. Davis has been a menace on defense, with a block and two steals so far. He also has 15 points and 16 rebounds.

The Lakers are looking to advance to the NBA Finals with a win tonight. The Warriors will need a miraculous comeback to extend their season and force a Game 7.
